Pulse crops are important components of crop production in Ethiopia's smallholders’ agriculture, providing an economic advantage to small farm holdings as an alternative source of protein, cash income, and food security. Pulses have also played an important role in the export sector generating foreign currency for the country. They are the largest export crop after Coffee & Sesame Seeds.

Black Kidney Bean

Are rich in antioxidants, which can protect the cells in our body & reduce the risk of conditions like heart diseases & cancer.

Green Mung Beans

Green mung beans are small, ovoid (sometimes cylindrical) in shape with a bright green skin. They are new and emerging crops in Ethiopia with good results.

Red Kidney Bean

Belayneh Kindie Import & Export currently sources its Red Kidney Beans From Gojam ( North Western Ethiopia) & from Southern Ethiopia.

Red Speckled Kidney Beans

Is a high nutrient bean variety in Ethiopia. The seed size is large & kidney shapedAnd also Is rich in proteins, minerals & fibre offering a balanced nutrition for children & adults

White Beans

Are considered as vegetarian alternatives for meat. However, they are also considered part of the vegetable group because they are an excellent source of dietary fiber & nutrients.

Chickpeas

There are two types of chickpeas produced globally, namely Desi and Kabuli chickpeas.
